Our general manager Joe Martin has been invited to judge The Gin Cooperative Awards 2022. 

The Gin Cooperative Awards is a celebration of Scottish Gin with awards combining taste, which judges the entries neat and as a gin and tonic, along with a score for packaging. Our judging panel includes individuals from the industry, the gin community and consumers, carefully selected so our awards programme is a real-world reflection of all types of gin drinkers.

Industry judges come from various backgrounds, including on-trade, off-trade, hospitality, food and tourism. Industry judges will all have a level of insight and understanding of the production of gin along with an understanding of the spirits supply chain. Some will be more focused on flavour with some more focused on marketing, but all will provide valuable industry feedback.

Joe Martin has a wealth of experience in the Scottish hospitality industry. Starting in high-end restaurants and moving on to high-end, high-volume bars like The Tippling House and Revolution in Aberdeen. Since becoming the General Manager of Scotch & Rye in Inverness, Joe has helped the bar win a number of high-profile industry awards and had his cocktails published in Pickering’s Gin Cocktails at Home book. Joe has also collaborated with a number of breweries and whisky distilleries and has worked with a number of local gins to establish the Highland Gin Academy.
